At Christensen Violin Studios we understand that family budgets are often tight and that it is at times difficult to make choices between providing enrichment opportunities for your child and spending that same money on other needs for the family. Perhaps your child has expressed an interest in music lessons, but you are just not sure if the time is right. Or you have decided to give violin lessons a try but you have three teachers you are trying to choose between. We would like to make this first step as stress free and as risk free as possible. Therefore we offer the first month (4 lessons) free to any new student, just to give you an opportunity to try us out. (Really?? Yes, really! There's no catch!) Our scheduling is flexible. We will work with your budget and your schedule. We do not require semester-long or year-long commitments. Most students pay for that month's lessons at the beginning of each month. If your child must miss a lesson due to illness, weather, out of town commitments, or other reasons we will attempt to do make-up lessons within that month or credit a lesson onto the following month. We also offer a 2-for-the-price-of-1 special. This means that two students can take lessons at the same time for the same price that would otherwise be charged for one student. Perhaps those two students would be a brother and sister, or a mother and daughter, or two classmates or friends. This arrangement may be ideal for your situation, giving each student in the pair the opportunity to encourage the other since they will both be learning the same skills at the same time, and of course it can stretch the family budget when two members of the same household want to take lessons. Current rates for lessons are $20 per half hour lesson ($30 for a 45 minute lesson, and $40 for an hour long lesson). Most students take one half hour lesson once a week. More advanced students, or those preparing for a special performance may benefit from 45 minute or hour long lessons. At times families have found it necesary to reduce a student's lessons to every other week because of budget constraints. This is not ideal, but it is something that we could offer. Again, we want to work with your budget and your schedule.
